Introduction
SOLAR DOS REIS
This house, with about 200 years of existence, keeps stories, secrets and experiences of other times. In the 19th century, it was a manor house, although later it served as a primary school for the people of Tabua, in Ribeira Brava. In 2022, in order to preserve the heritage and history of Tabua, Danilo Reis saw the opportunity to transform and recreate this property, exploring the perfect atmosphere of the old residences of Madeira. In this way, the main house, the hayloft and the surrounding areas were the target of a deep requalification intervention for Rural Tourism.
A comfortable and pleasant atmosphere was created, perfectly integrated in the nature and rurality of the area where it is located.
THE ROOMS
The rustic style combined with comfort, transports its visitors to the cosy and simple atmosphere of the old Madeiran houses that had a strong relationship with the land and the stone. An authentic experience in a rural context.
There are six comfortable rooms distributed around the “mother house”, all with outside access, and a more private “palheiro” studio, which retains its original stone features after being completely reconstructed.
SUITE
The suite is located on the ground floor of the “mother house” and has direct access to the common area, living room, kitchen, garden and swimming pool. This suite has a bedroom, private bathroom with shower and an extra space with living room, sofa bed, cable TV and mini bar.

DOUBLE ROOM OR TWIN ROOM
On the upper floor of the “mother house”, three bedrooms with window and view to the natural surroundings of the surroundings (Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Saúde and Levada Nova), private bathroom with shower and mini bar. The access is made through the exterior of the property.

THE HOUSE
A paradise, between the mountains and the sea, to explore or simply relax...
A house carefully restored from its original features, integrated in an area of pure natural landscape, about twenty minutes from Funchal, to spend a few relaxed days at any time of the year.
The Solar dos Reis has one suite, five bedrooms, kitchen and living room, in the main house, as well as a “palheiro” studio attached to the main property. The rustic decoration, the atmosphere, as well as the comfort provided and the concept of shared spaces, will make you feel a family atmosphere.
A kind of “slow living experience” enters this place and transmits personality and a sense of belonging. The serene and relaxing atmosphere of the house's interior gives continuity to the exterior. Can you imagine being in a place where you can hear the sound and melody of nature?
The garden welcomes its visitors. As you walk through it you will reach the heart of the house, where you will find a patio whose central area is occupied by small nooks and crannies, comfortable seating areas and access to the rest of the property's surroundings. The pool and its views dazzle in all their fullness. It is as if you felt the warmth of Nature's embrace in its purest state and an instant sense of well-being.

ENJOY FRESHLY BAKED BREAD EVERY MORNING….
The moment that delights our guests. It is in the common area, in a perfectly cosy atmosphere typical of a traditional Madeiran house, that we serve breakfast.
Inspired by regional cuisine, we use fresh and organic produce from our vegetable-garden. We are mainly referring to fruit, jams and eggs, although the table is also filled with freshly baked bread, milk, coffee, cereals and seasonal fruit juices. Breakfast is included in your stay.
THE OUTDOOR SWIMMING POOL WITH HEATED WATER!
Choose a sun lounger, settle in and relax. The surrounding nature as background and the gardens that host a wide variety of plants and flowers invite you to enjoy this outdoor space. Besides the water temperature of the pool being perfect, the level of tranquillity is always endless.
OUR BARE FEET MINI-TRAIL
We have created a small trail for a unique sensory experience, within the universe of natural reflexology! Put your feet on the ground and feel the energy of nature.
This route of about 50 metres allows contact with 5 different elements: pebble stone, sand, pine bark, eucalyptus leaf and rammed earth. An activity that helps balance the human body, strengthen the immune system, activate blood circulation and can be used by anyone without mobility conditioning.
AQUAPONICS AND A ORGANIC VEGETABLE-GARDEN...
In this house, fruit, vegetables and herbs grow with the rhythm of the seasons. In an aquaponics system, we combine fish farming in ponds with growing plants without soil for consumption.
We also have the privilege of having an organic vegetable-garden rich in strawberries, figs, plums, cherries, avocados, pears and bananas, which make an important contribution to the meals we provide to our guests.

THE ISLAND
We are in the place with the best temperature of Madeira Island - Tabua, Ribeira Brava....
Madeira Island is located in the Atlantic Ocean, 500 km from the African coast and 1000 km from the European continent. Its privileged geographical position and mountainous orography gives Madeira an extremely favourable climate all year round, with mild average temperatures and moderate humidity.
Maximum temperatures differ from summer to winter, reaching or even exceeding 25ºC in summer and 20ºC in winter, while minimum temperatures in summer rise to 20ºC and 13ºC in winter. The sea, too, reaches pleasant temperature levels throughout the year, oscillating between 18ºC in winter and 24ºC in summer.
Solar dos Reis is located in the western part of the island (the area with the most sun exposure in Madeira), in the parish of Tabua, municipality of Ribeira Brava, in an area that borders the municipality of Ponta do Sol. It is the smallest parish of Ribeira Brava, occupying an area of about 11 km2, which stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the south to the mountains to the north. Known for its highly fertile soil, vineyards, sugarcane and banana plantations predominate in this area.
In front of Solar dos Reis is located the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Saúde. Right next to the development is also the well-known Leva nova, where you can explore on foot and enjoy the breath-taking views of the western part of Madeira Island. Close to the development there is also a connection to Paul da Serra by a dirt road that can be crossed by jeep, where you can enjoy a more radical experience.
